Preventing Death by Lecture!
Good training is good
training. Whether the “trainer” is a part-time instructor, a
business person, a teacher, a trainer or a subject matter
expert, he or she knows that good training is not about
lecturing. Good training is really about using a variety of
training methods so that learners not only HEAR the information,
but REMEMBER it and USE it.
So how do good trainers “lecture without lecturing?” How do they
make their information-delivery interesting and memorable? How
do they involve listeners in their own learning without wasting
valuable training time?
In this one-day workshop, participants learn how to create
lessons, presentations, courses, and training that are both
educational and entertaining. They practice
“interactive-lecture” strategies they can use right away with
any subject, any size group, and any age of learners. They
create a “trainer’s toolbox” full of ideas, activities, and
materials that are practical, memorable, and fun. And they learn
the educational research behind it all - what works and why.
By the end of this program, participants will be able to:
- Choose from over 24 Accelerated Learning instructional
strategies that they can use with any topic, any size group,
and any age learner.
- Use over 12 “interactive lecture” formats to liven up
even the most factual lecture or lesson.
- Include the 10-minute rule, 60-second activities, and
5-minute games to turn passive listeners into active
learners.
- Apply 6 important discoveries about the human brain to
boost long-term retention of necessary information.

Usually, day long training sessions put at least one person to
sleep … that did not happen with Marcia Jackson as the
presenter. Marcia energized our group from the very start and
modeled accelerated learning concepts throughout her session.
Our people were able to put concepts into practice immediately.
